A Fundamental Instrument of Communication

Storytelling underpins our day-to-day lives and is a main source of, and reason for, communication. It works on several levels – it is a shared experience, it entertains, informs and educates.

Storytelling by definition is a group activity. It can help children find their own voice and take the risk of using it in front of others.

Telling a story poses questions: how do you draw people in, learn to use eye contact, project your voice and convince others what you are saying is true? These are incredibly important skills for all stages in life.

Nothing wins children’s hearts like a good story and in Entertainingly Different sessions children are encouraged to tell their own stories as well as listen to others.
